My husband is a major Chicago Cubs fan, so when we lived in Los Angeles we used to go see the Cubbies during spring training in Mesa, AZ. It really is a great time - and I'm not a sports fan. The concessions and tickets are cheap and the crowd is lively - filled mostly w/displaced fans from Chicago & wherever the opposing team is from. The whole atmosphere is really intimate and if you get to the game early or stay late you can meet the players. VirtualTourist.com User

The swap meet/flea market is open Friday to Sunday. It has a free entrance and everything you could ever think of. We went to the swap meet on Sunday morning while our husbands were golfing. We found so much there at great prices. We even took our husbands back on Friday morning! IgoUgo.com User

Playing at Las Sendas is like playing a round of golf in the middle of the Saguaro National Park. For those of you who have not been to Mesa or the Phoenix area, the Saguaro Cactus is the giant cactus, often referred to as the symbol of the southwest).
Las Sendas is a challenging, beautiful, 5-star course with very quick greens and lots of cacti. It is as close to to a desert course as I've played. IgoUgo.com User
